Royal Ascot 2017
Royal Ascot 2016, which took place between the dates of Tuesday June 14 and Saturday June 18, was an enthralling feast of horse racing. The showpiece of the meeting, the Gold Cup, took place on the third day, and was won by Order of St George, providing his trainer Aidan O’Brien with a seventh win in the race. Other Group 1 wins included a second of the season for Hugo Palmer’s 2000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold, who has recently been retired, while Clive Cox saddled the winners of both the King’s Stand (Profitable) and Prince of Wales’s Stakes (My Dream Boat). There was also Royal Ascot joy for Henry Candy after Twilight Son won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on the fifth and final day of the meeting. Will Royal Ascot 2017 be as exciting?
